Climate and environmental protection.
We want to ensure CO₂ neutrality in the medium to long term. Every year, we get one step closer to this goal.
Process optimization and energy savings are just as much a part of our measures as green investments. That’s why we operate PV systems and are constantly expanding our e-charging network for electric and hybrid vehicles.

Our goals for a better environment
Reduction in the amount of purchased electricity
We want to reduce our ecological footprint and are therefore continuing to drive forward our own energy generation. We have installed and commissioned PV systems at our two sites in Bruckberg and the Czech Republic.
Conscious choice of power supply
As electricity generation from renewable energies has a comparatively low impact on the environment, we almost exclusively use green electricity for our sites.
Reducing fuel consumption
We pay attention to the efficient use of resources in our vehicle fleet: many electric and hybrid vehicles are already on the road used in in Germany and we are also testing new vehicles in the Czech Republic for their fuel efficiency.
How we reduce direct emissions
Scope 1 covers all direct greenhouse gas emissions originating from sources owned or controlled by the company. Over recent years, EFAFLEX has achieved continuous and measurable progress in reducing its Scope 1 footprint. Since the initial assessment in 2021, direct emissions have been lowered by 29%, reaching 1,196 t CO₂e.
This figure represents approximately 3.5% of total emissions in 2024. A key driver of this substantial reduction is the consistent expansion of our sustainable electric vehicle fleet, which forms an essential component of our long-term decarbonisation strategy.
Green Electricity Minimises Indirect CO₂ Emissions
Scope 2 covers the indirect emissions generated from purchased energy.
Thanks to the high utilisation rate of our in-house photovoltaic power and the transition to 100% certified green electricity, EFAFLEX was able to reduce Scope 2 emissions in 2024 to 6.5 t CO₂e – a 98% decrease compared with the previous year. This achievement effectively reverses the previously rising trend caused by the increasing electricity demand of our expanding electric vehicle fleet.
189606 kg CO₂ / year
Photovoltaic systems at two locations
Our photovoltaic installations at the Bruckberg and Olsi sites provide a combined capacity of 751 kWp. This corresponds to the annual electricity demand of approximately 214 three-person households.

Sustainable Packaging Solutions
EFAFLEX relies on sustainable packaging materials such as paper, cardboard, and wood in order to minimise the use of plastics. Plastic cushioning and adhesive tapes have been replaced with fully recyclable paper-based alternatives, and door systems are transported safely and sustainably in custom wooden crates. Through the elimination of unnecessary wooden components, the annual wood consumption has been reduced by approximately 9,000 linear metres.
Long-length packaging is secured using water-activated paper tapes instead of metal staples, and paper document pouches have replaced plastic ones.
In this way, our products are protected not only safely, but sustainably and resource-efficiently.
EFAFLEX drives sustainably
Across its various locations in Germany, EFAFLEX provides a total of 25 charging points for electric and hybrid vehicles. In addition to company cars, employees may also charge their private vehicles free of charge. The required electricity is supplied by the company’s own photovoltaic system in combination with certified green electricity, ensuring an exceptionally environmentally responsible and sustainable energy supply.
E-service vehicles
As part of a pilot project, EFAFLEX is testing fully electric Ford Transit vehicles for customer service operations. Following the positive results with the first vehicle, a second fully electric service van has now been deployed—representing yet another step towards sustainable mobility in day-to-day business operations.
