EFAFLEX EFA-EnergySaver Nominated for German Sustainability Projects Award 2026
Digital Sustainability Tool from Lower Bavaria Nominated for Prestigious Sustainability Award
BRUCKBERG, Germany. Making sustainability measurable and providing customers with tangible savings potential: with this goal in mind, Jan Hauffe and Rebecca Hofstätter-Griss from the EFAFLEX Sales Team developed the digital EFA-EnergySaver tool. The innovative digital project has now been nominated for the German Award for Sustainability Projects 2026 in the “Online Platform” category.
The EFA-EnergySaver enables architects, planners, and companies to calculate their potential energy, CO₂, and cost savings with just a few inputs. The tool compares a conventional industrial sectional door with an EFAFLEX high-speed door. Based on individual factors such as weather data, the number of daily door cycles, and current energy prices, it determines concrete and reliable savings potential. The application is based on a 2013 study conducted by the Technical University of Munich and was developed in collaboration with eigenmind GmbH from Berlin as the development partner and Etanomics Service GmbH from Neu-Isenburg, an engineering consultancy specializing in energy efficiency and decarbonization.
The web application, which has been available on the EFAFLEX website since 2023, is platform-independent and requires no installation. It runs directly in a browser on all devices, including PCs, tablets, and smartphones. Since its launch, the application has been continuously enhanced. The third development stage is currently in operation, while further versions are already in preparation. The goal is to provide customers with even more precise and meaningful data to support investment decisions and evaluate the total operating costs of their facilities. The primary contacts and key developers of the project are Jan Hauffe and Rebecca Hofstätter-Griss.
The nomination for the German Award for Sustainability Projects represents a special recognition. A total of 433 projects were submitted across 19 categories, with only 46 receiving awards. The submitted initiatives are evaluated by an independent jury comprising experts from business, academia, and the media. The competition aims to highlight sustainable commitment and inspire further innovation. The awards ceremony will take place on September 17, 2026, in Berlin.
Christopher Seysen, shareholder of EFAFLEX, expressed his delight at the recognition: “I am proud of the commitment, innovative strength, and outstanding ideas demonstrated by our team. The EFA-EnergySaver impressively shows how expertise, customer focus, and personal dedication can create a tool that makes a genuine contribution to greater sustainability. I would like to sincerely congratulate Rebecca Hofstätter-Griss and Jan Hauffe on this outstanding achievement.”
The award nomination once again underscores EFAFLEX’s ambition not only to remain a technological leader in the field of high-speed doors, but also to develop digital solutions that help companies reduce energy consumption and achieve their sustainability goals. This recognition on a national level demonstrates that innovation and sustainability go hand in hand at EFAFLEX.
